After completion of the jjob i have no brake booster 5 answers after brake pad and rotor change on 06 bmw 525 xi i have faulty brake booster which worked fine before.
2006 bmw x5 master cylinder pedal goes to floor.
This gives the feeling of a soft pedal and a person will usually describe a scenario where they say they push the pedal down and it feels like nothing is happening and then all of a sudden there seems to be a pedal.
A good indication of this condition is lack of fluid flow from the brake bleeders.
Follow the vehicle s manufacturer specified bleeding procedure.
It looks like abs could make a soft pedal if some of the return relief valves are leaky.
In brief one valve blocks hydraulic pressure to the wheel and another relief value provides a way for the fluid to get back to the master cylinder with a temporary reservoir maybe the spongy part of the system as the system cycles.
Hi i have changed the master cylinder and bled the brakes but the pedal still goes to the floor as it did before i changed it out.
Could there be something in missing.
Changed rotors and pads on 06 525xi while pushing calipers back for new pads fluid overflowed from master cylinder onto the floor.
When you step on your brake pedal the piston compresses the brake fluid behind it in the master cylinder.
In this scenario the booster pin gap between the brake booster that goes into the back of the master cylinder may be too large.
The brake pedal will go to the floor and subsequent efforts to get a satisfactory brake pedal will fail.
Extreme force must be applied to brake but vehicle still moves.
Check if fluid comes out of master cylinder at line connection.
The brake fluid under pressure travels through brake lines and is finally applied to your caliper.
Ensure master cylinder is bench bled prior to installation.
