2008 Silverado Inside Door Handle Not Working

I had the truck for 2 weeks when the front passangers side inside door handle stopped working.

You have a thin piece of metal that goes from the door handle to the key slot. Start by removing handles and arm rests etc whatever is obviously bolted on through the door panel then use a flat blade small putty knife to slide under the door panel along the bottom edge and pop the plastic clips that fasten the panel to the door. Roll the window down and carefully push the door panel away at the top right above the latch rear of door then look down inside the door at the latch and figure out which rod fell of the latch. Next there should be 2 small access holes probably covered by plastic sheeting.

If you have the panel off just look up at were the outside door handle is mounted. These holes are for the socket to reach them. To see that repair please click here. When you open it it releases.

The rod cable had popped off the latch. This 2008 chevrolet silverado came in with the complaint that the driver s power door lock does not work. Since the switch was now working properly the next step was to check the door lock actuator.

Inside door handle broke very easy i may say and then was told was 900 dollars to fix it. You need to unbolt the rest of what is left usually a metric fastner. Has anyone had problems with the inside door handles. I had already repaired the problem with the driver s door lock switch not working at all.
